Simple  Felt  Hat

So quick and easy to knit, using stocking stitch

and one simple seam.

A fun way to stay warm this winter!

This beanie is ideal if you are new to hat knitting.

It’s easily worked in stocking stitch on 2 needles

Felted Size (Adults)

 Small 50 - 54cm

 Medium 55 - 59cm

                       Large 60 - 65cm

 Hats can be adjusted to fit

Needle size 8mm (UK 0 /US 11)

tension - 11sts x 16 rows = 10cm (4”) st.st. square

Knitted using 1 strand of Worsted / 10 ply  pure

wool – Handwash yarn (felting yarn).

Recommended yarn:-  

Grundl Filzwolle Color felting yarn

Yardage:-  

Small  2 x 50gm ball color (100m Filzwolle)

Medium /Large 3 x 50gm ball color (150m Filzwolle)  

Abbreviations

k=knit

p = Purl

inc= increase 1 stitch by knitting into front and then back of the same stitch

k2tog = knit next 2 stitches together as one stitch

PM = place stitch marker


Additional tips

Cast off loosely - You may find it easier to cast off using a larger needle size.
